Religious Trauma

Katie has extensive knowledge and experience with clients who have experienced religious trauma and spiritual abuse. A lot of individuals have gone through significant hardships and trauma in the name of the religion, faith, or the church that they grew up in. Often, people are trying to reconcile their past beliefs with their current views and values as they are deconstructing and re-evaluating their faith. Survivors of religious trauma can experience significant stress, self-hatred, shame, sexual challenges, and difficulty with relationships among other mental health concerns. Katie provides a secular, non-judgmental safe space for clients to express, process and heal from their experiences.
